Please read these terms carefully before using Bitmessa. By using our platform to sell Bitcoin and digital assets for Naira, you agree to be bound by these terms.

By using the website, you represent and warrant that you are:
- At least 18 years old with full legal capacity to contract
- Transferring only funds that belong to you obtained by lawful means
- Not engaging in any unlawful activity through our services
- Complying with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
3.1 Permitted Sources of Funds
Prohibited funds
You are prohibited from sending digital assets obtained through criminal or fraudulent activity.
3.2 Prohibited Jurisdictions
Services are not available to residents of Cuba, North Korea, Crimea, Sudan, Syria, United States, Bangladesh, Bolivia, and other sanctioned countries.
3.3 Restrictions of Use
You agree not to damage, disable, overload, or attack the Website functionality. Automated access, trading bots, and data extraction are strictly prohibited.
Bitmessa is a streamlined platform for converting Bitcoin and its variants to Naira. We support the following cryptocurrencies:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Bitcoin SV (BSV)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
4.1 Transaction Limits
Minimum Amount: $10 USD or equivalent in cryptocurrency. Maximum Amount: No maximum limit currently applies.
4.2 Processing Time
Transactions are typically completed within minutes after receiving two network confirmations on the blockchain. Our platform maintains high liquidity to handle multiple transactions simultaneously.
4.3 Geographic Restrictions
Bitmessa operates on the internet and is accessible to any Nigerian on the internet from any part of the world. However, we only credit Nigerian bank account holders.
4.4 Rate Changes
Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile and may change positively or negatively within seconds. Bitmessa records the price immediately after two network confirmations. We use a floating price system that picks the highest of ten top exchanges, multiplied by our local exchange rate.
No fees
The only fee you will pay is the usual transaction charge when sending your coins to us. No signup or account creation required.
API access
Bitmessa provides RESTful API and JSON-RPC services for developers to interact with our platform programmatically.
Our API provides access to sell Bitcoin and USDT for Nigerian Naira with real-time rates and secure processing. Please refer to our comprehensive API documentation at https://bitmessa.com/apidocs for details on available endpoints, request/response formats, and rate limits.
5.1 API Access
To use our API, you need to contact us at api@bitmessa.com to obtain an API key. This key is required for authentication when making API requests and must be included in all requests as the 'secretkey' parameter.
5.2 Rate Limiting
We enforce rate limits to ensure fair usage and prevent abuse. Standard API users are limited to 100 requests per 15 minutes. For higher volume requirements, please contact us for custom rate limits.
- Standard API: 100 requests per 15 minutes
- RPC Access: 10-500 requests per minute (tiered)
- Enterprise: Custom limits available
5.3 Usage Guidelines
You must comply with our API usage guidelines and terms of service. This includes but is not limited to:
- Using the API for legitimate cryptocurrency conversion purposes only
- Not exceeding rate limits or attempting to circumvent them
- Properly handling API errors and rate limit responses
- Keeping your API key secure and not sharing it with third parties
- Not using the API for automated trading or arbitrage without permission
5.4 RPC Access
Bitmessa provides a JSON-RPC interface for advanced users who need direct interaction with the Bitcoin blockchain. RPC access requires special approval and is subject to tiered rate limits:
- Basic: 10 requests per minute
- Standard: 50 requests per minute (default)
- Premium: 100 requests per minute
- Enterprise: 200-500 requests per minute
Important
Violation of rate limits may result in temporary suspension or permanent revocation of API access. Contact us at api@bitmessa.com for higher volume requirements.
Important
Cryptocurrency transactions are inherently irreversible. All trades and orders completed with Bitmessa are final.
Refunds are only possible if the site interface displays 'Overdue' status and if user funds were received by Bitmessa. Contact support with exchange ID for refund requests.
6.1 Refund Period
Users have a maximum 90-day period to request refunds for assets stored in the Bitmessa system due to errors. Refund requests after 90 days will not be accepted.
6.2 Unsupported Currencies
Unsupported digital assets deposited into our system cannot be refunded. Bitmessa reserves the right to consider such cases individually.
6.3 Minimum Refund Amounts
For deposits below the minimum transaction amount of $10, Bitmessa does not provide refunds. Users are advised to ensure their transactions meet the minimum requirements.
Security alert
Bitmessa is not responsible for funds sent to fake phishing websites.
It is your responsibility to verify that you are visiting the correct domain and to check the security certificate in your browser's URL bar. Never trust personal messages from people claiming to represent Bitmessa.
If you cannot verify that a request is official from Bitmessa, contact us directly. Stay diligent and report any phishing attempts to mails@bitmessa.com.
